15th October 2025 Hiking - Walking: The Grove at Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light airs Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Tuesday 15th October - walk *** – Holbrook circuit – mainly cloudy. The day did look a little more promising today with some glimpses of sunshine but after we had completed our exercises and Mag had made a cake it had clouded over again with some drizzle but the picnic was already made so we headed out anyway at one. Being a little late we decided to drive over to The Grove for a walk in the woods taking a detour down to the seafront to see a lovely shaft of sunshine surrounded on all sides by dark menacing clouds, that made a cool pic! Once parked we walked through Abbey Grove over a bed of fallen leaves to our bench in the little green area, fairly peaceful apart from the noise of the dumpers on the nearby building site:( The lunch went down well although it was a tad chilly and Mag didn’t put enough clothes on so after a warming cuppa we continued through the woods spotting loads of squirrels looking well mainly due to the good supply of chestnuts! We left the woods and returned across farmland to the football pitches leading to the van, home for another cuppa with a slice of freshly made cake:) PS - for the second day running I have a pic on ITV,s About Anglia, got to love Chris:) Really cracked it today as got another pic on the BBC,s Look East!
